Lansing Kitchen Remodel and Bathroom Expansion

Project Overview

New...they were tired of the existing kitchen and lack of storage. The lighting was not good and there was a lot of wasted space. While converting the half-bath to a full bath, the fridge had to move so it was a great time to just update everything. The project included updating the existing kitchen along with turning the main floor half-bath into a full bathroom by updating the existing bathroom and expanding it to add a new walk-in shower. Along with the kitchen remodel, we raised a portion of the floor from the garage entry to make that area by the garage entry and bathroom less difficult to step through. In addition, the dining area was updated with a coffee and storage cabinet area. The wall color was inspired by a trip that they had taken to Florida and loved the color they had seen there!

Project Goals

  • Add storage! This was one of the biggest goals that started the desire to remodel. As can be seen from the “before” photos, they needed more space.
  • A major goal as well was to add a shower to the existing main floor bathroom to create a master suite on the main floor for more accessible showering access.
  • Brighten the space! The existing lighting was very poor and there was much need for improvement in adding kitchen lighting.
